Anastasia's Secret Book Review

Anastasia's Secret Anastasia's Secret by Susanne Dunlap

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Anastasia’s Secret is a tragically beautiful story that everyone must read. Susanne Dunlap takes the historical figure Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaevna Romanova and tells her story from age twelve to seventeen. The story begins when Anastasia befriends Sasha, a young soldier who would not be considered suitable by her family. Sasha does not shelter Anastasia but instead speaks honestly to her and even shows her what life outside the palace walls is like. With war, revolutions, and the fall of the monarchy we see the toll all these things take on the royal family. We experience the imprisonment of the Romanova's and how the family was mistreated. No matter where life took Sasha and Anastasia they always seem to cross paths. Even within the darkness Anastasia found a love that kept her faith alive. In the end she has to choose between a chance at a new life or to stay with her family. I loved this book from beginning to end and could not put it down for a second.

  1. I love reading about the Romanov's and their story/history in Russia and of course the story behind Anastasia. I think I'm going to have to add this to my Good Reads! :)
